Rich Boy

Rich Boy, who was born Maurice Richards in Mobile, Alabama, was studying to become a mechanical engineer at Tuskegee University when he dropped out to focus on a career in music. He was discovered by music producer Polow Da Don, who had previously worked with such successful artists as Ludacris, Fergie and the Grammy-nominated Jamie Foxx, and was signed to the Zone 4/Interscope Records label. Rich Boy’s first single ‘Throw Some D’s’ rose to the Top 10 and his self-titled debut album contained a number of other hits including ‘Get to Poppin,’ ‘Role Models,’ and ‘Boy Looka Here.’ In 2007, Rich Boy made appearances at events on Spring Break Acapulco.
