The Tennessee pop-punk band Paramore has been rapidly emerging. Frontwoman, 18-year-old Hayley Williams takes control of audience during live shows with her spunk and charisma. Already getting early publicity, Paramore has recorded an album called “RIOT,” which they feel will have all the right stuff to get them to the next level. They have teamed up with StudentCity and mtvU and performed in Panama City Beach for Spring Break last year.
Biography
Hayley Williams (age 18) first met band-mates, guitarist Josh Farro (age 20) and drummer Zac Farro (age 17), while in high school four years ago. They later met bassist Jeremy Davis (age 22) and in 2004 Paramore was formed. They soon began to build a local fanbase around Nashville by playing small shows. After just a few months Paramore started performing places other than in Tennessee and was spotted at a gig in Florida by Fueled By Ramen founder John Janick. He loved their presence and dedication, which led him to sign the band to his label in early 2005.
Paramore quickly released their debut album, “ALL WE KNOW IS FALLING” in the summer of 2005, and the music community took instant notice of the band upon the album's release. Hayley was singled out in the New York Times as being a star in the making. The band toured non-stop in 2006 with bands like Simple Plan and had some show-stealing performances at the Warped Tour and others, which helped build up their star power. 2006 continued to be a great year for Paramore, selling-out a tour of North America in the fall, and also having tours of both Japan and Europe that were also successful. The U.K. tour came to an end and the U.K. magazine Kerrang! readers voted Hayley the #2 “Sexiest Female” and Paramore as the “Best New Band.” The band exclaimed that they love to get notices of being the ‘Next Big Thing,’ but continue to stay grounded.
