As one of the top DJs in the industry, DJ Skribble is a master at creating a mood with music. His career started in the early 90s as a founding member of the group ‘Young Black Teenagers.’ After the group’s break-up, Skribble struck out on his own, and his work has encompassed collaborations with recording artists such as Wyclef Jean of the Fugees, and appearances on MTV shows like ‘The Grind’ and ‘The Daily Burn.’ He has appeared on numerous radio shows in New York, including ‘Skribble’s House’ on WKTU, and Hot 97’s ‘Morning Show with Ed Lover and Doctor Dre. Skribble has an unreal work ethic, averaging over 300 concert dates at clubs and parties each year! And has become somewhat of a staple on the Spring Break scene with the release of his mix album ‘Essential Spring Break ,’ appearances on MTV programs, and of course by playing shows and parties in many destinations including Spring Break Acapulco .

Biography

DJ Skribble got his name from his art school and graffiti days and became well known in the early 90’s by founding the Young Black Teenagers with MC’s Ata, Kamron, Firstborn and Tommy Never. The group name actually caused a lot of controversy considering none of the members were actually black. The YBT’s first album got assistance from large group names such as Public Enemy and The BombSquad. However, the name was then changed in their second attempt to the Dead End Kids Doin’ Lifetime Bidz. This was a better fit and was made up from the talents of The Bomb Squad, Keith Shocklee, and Grandmaster Flash, which led to the group’s signature hit “Tap The Bottle.”

Working as a solo artist, Skribble has collaborated with many groups, rappers, and bands. He works with anyone and any type of genre, which is why he has the success he has today. “One night I’ll be doing a rave, another night I may work a commercial college club, then I’ll move on to underground house. That’s why I’m constantly on the road.” Long before it was heard of to blend rock and electronica, DJ Skribble DJ-ed with the new-age group Primus. He has also performed with a variety of artists like Biggie Smalls, Channel Live, Anthrax, Artifacts, K7, Craig Mack and toured alongside the Chemical Brothers. Skribble schedules about 300 concerts per year. He is also the most popular DJ on a variety of MTV line ups.
