The Dark Knight
It's a rare occasion that I am actually excited to see a movie, or just as excited as I would be to go see a band play. I do go to the movies quite often and most of the time I say, "yeah, that was a good movie" and then forget about it, never seeing it again. I'm easy to please I guess, but when I can tell that I'm going to have a new movie under my favorites after only watching the trailer, you know it's going to be a good one for me at least.
This new Batman film features two of my favorite actors, Christian Bale as Batman, the late Health Ledger as The Joker and looks to be a dark and amazing spin on the original comic series. To continue the story outside of the Tim Burton world of Batman is director Christopher Nolan. This sequel has said to be an immediate blockbuster with Heath Ledger's part of The Joker being the most marketed face of the film. This was one of the last movies Ledger was in before his unfortunate death.
The story continues as the sequel to the new Batman franchise directed by Christopher Nolan including not only The Joker, but Two-Face/Harvey Dent as a second villain. In this story similar to the comic Batman: Long Halloween, Dent will be battling the Joker as well as Batman. The dispute between Batman and The Joker becomes very personal as Batman and Bruce Wayne are faced with life changing decisions. The film has yet to release real photos of Harvey Dent as Two-Face.
"The Dark Knight" comes out Summer 2008.
