Born and raised in Fullerton, California, John Devenanzio, AKA Johnny Bananas, moved to New York after high school graduation. There he drank and partied for 3 1/2 years before transferring to Penn State to polish of an illustrious academic career. After he was cast for MTV's ‘The Real World Key West,’ it was off to Florida for taping. Johnny has an unpredictable mixture of charisma, kindness and intelligence, and he has a chameleon-like ability to adapt to any surrounding. After the show, he has been seen making appearances all over the U.S. as well as in Mexico, specifically at our celebrity Spring Break parties .

“The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno III” (2007)
The 14th season of the Real World/Road Rules Challenge took place in Cape Town, South Africa and was the third of the Inferno series. The teams followed the format of The Inferno II, "Good Guys" versus "Bad Asses.” John was a member of the “Good Guys” who made it to the end, but lost in the final mission.

“The Duel” was the thirteenth season of the challenges, which took place in Buzios, Brazil. This challenge featured a “lone wolves” series, where it was every man for them self, no teams. Johnny was eliminated first by former cast-mate Tyler.
